CULTURALIZING IMPACT

Why
impact

Because the effect of whatever we do in this world, good or bad, matters. Watch the video and learn more about our IMPACT principles.

social Impact is how organizations, businesses or individuals’ actions affect the surrounding community

Impact results from an activity, project, program or policy. It can be negative or positive, intentional or unintentional. Social impact can be felt by people with direct association, or have a far-reaching impact on people in different communities far away. Social impact can be beyond people, it affects the ecosystem, environment and the planet too.

doing good is one thing, but creating social impact is another

They are not the same

SOCIAL GOOD VS SOCIAL IMPACT

many individuals and organizations are doing good things for the community and the planet

They like to use the word “social impact” in their communications, all portrayed positively. That is social good. It is not social impact.

SOCIAL GOOD VS SOCIAL IMPACT

Social impact must have both positive and negative sides

There is no truly positive action without leaving gaps in this world. The practise of social impact lies heavily on assessments, where people evaluate their actions in the most objective and honest manner.

SOCIAL GOOD VS SOCIAL IMPACT

Both positive and negative sides are important to highlight

This is important, for the purpose of identifying change, finding out what went wrong and innovating for the better.

They stood behind the principles of climate justice. KAMY advocates for a more representative approach in climate action in Malaysia, by empowering groups most affected by the climate crisis - youths, women and marginalized communities. Temperature increase of more than 1 ° C will threaten social security and Malaysian economy, and the country may face an existential crisis. Impact Malaysia provides full support to Klima Action Malaysia, and young people working in climate issues.
